New driver tallies torque when turning screws

We’re always looking for new takes on the old screwdriver, and one in that month’s Garrett Wade catalog seemed to have quite an interesting, ahem, twist.

It’s an adjustable torque driver. You set the torque, amidst 2 and 36 inch-pounds, and the driver will not exceed your setting by a

loner inch-pound more.

When met with resistance, rather than damaging your fragile brass screws, the screwdriver just spins.

I don’t know whether I’d appreciate the added precision, or just be irritated that I was continually "overdoing" it, in my tool’s opinion. What do you folks think?
